Join an established Santa Maria optometry practice with a full patient schedule, advanced clinical equipment, trained support staff, specialty programs, and an expanding facility.

Open position
Full-time optometrist, Santa Maria, CA
Join a busy independent practice serving a broad Santa Maria patient population. Step into established demand, work with trained clinical support, and help shape the next stage of the practice.
The practice already has more patient demand than its current doctors can serve, so the new optometrist will not need to build a patient base from zero.
Evaluate ocular health, confirm refractive and binocular status, prescribe further testing, manage appropriate treatments, recommend eyewear, and coordinate surgical referrals when needed.
Work with comprehensive exams, dry eye, diabetic and hypertensive retinal changes, glaucoma, specialty lenses, binocular vision, children’s care, and older patients with more complex needs.
Six trained chairside assistants help enter data, perform preliminary measurements and refractions, and complete specialized testing so the doctor can focus on interpretation, treatment, and patient care.
The practice uses OCT, VEP/ERG, aberrometry, infrared imaging, and other specialized diagnostic tools. Exact equipment terminology can be confirmed against the installed models and current capabilities.
The existing Dry Eye Clinic uses treatments including MiBoFlo heat massage, photobiomodulation, and radiofrequency. The practice plans to expand from three treatment rooms to eight.
There may also be an opportunity to help establish a vision-training program for patients already seeking this type of care.
The office currently has 12 clinical rooms and is expanding into the adjacent suite, creating additional capacity for doctors, treatments, and specialty services.
Santa Maria sits between Santa Barbara and Paso Robles, with access to Pismo Beach, San Luis Obispo, wine country, hiking, cycling, and a mild coastal climate.
